Reports To: Director of Human Resources

Job Summary: The Human Resources Manager / Assistant Director of Human Resources serves as a trusted HR partner, supporting leaders and colleagues in building a caring, inclusive, and values driven workplace culture aligned with Shangri-La principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a trusted HR partner to leaders and colleagues, providing practical, people‑centred guidance while fostering a caring, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture aligned with Shangri‑La values.
  • Ensure consistent application and compliance with HR policies and local labour practices.
  • Attend to all employee grievances, discipline and termination.
  • Oversee all employee movements including recruitment, confirmations, transfers, resignations, and employee records.
  • Oversee employee welfare programs, ensuring facilities, and initiatives effectively support employee well-being and satisfaction.
  • Responsible for monthly HR reports and payroll consolidation to the Director of Human Resources while ensuring payroll information is maintained for timely, accurate, and compliant salary payments.
  • Responsible for handling and coordinating all internal & external audit for the organization.
  • Maintain continuity of HR operations, including decision making in the absence of DOHR.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources/ Hospitality/ Hotel Management.
  • Good command in writing & speaking English. Able to speak other languages will be an added advantage.
  • With a minimum of one (1) year working experience of similar capacity.
  • Ability to handle confidential matters.
  • Good knowledge of labour legislation.
  • Pleasant, flexible, approachable, and have effective interpersonal skills.
  • A team player and good at computer literate.
  • Due to work permit restrictions, only citizens of Malaysia and Permanent Residents of Malaysia shall be considered.
