JOB SUMMARY: The HR Generalist will play a crucial role in supporting the HR department in various functions including talent acquisition, talent development, employee relations, performance management, benefits, compensation, and compliance with labor laws. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR practices and be able to contribute to the achievement of the department and company goals.

You will work closely with the other internal HR functional departments (HR Advisors, Benefits, Talent Acquisition, Payroll, and Regional HR Directors, etc.) to ensure the efficiency of the HR Department.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Act as a point of contact for employees, addressing their questions and concerns, and providing support in resolving work-related issues
  • Assist in the implementation of performance management systems.
  • Support managers in conducting performance reviews and developing employee improvement plans
  • Assist employees with benefits-related questions
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Maintain employee records and HRIS systems
  • Identify training needs, develop training programs, and facilitate training sessions to enhance employee skills and career development
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures. Ensure employees understand and adhere to company policies
  • Prepare and analyze HR metrics and reports to support decision-making processes
  • Develop and provide reports as required as well as provide a critical analysis with recommendations.
  • Build strategic working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in the successful onboarding of candidates into the Company as well as enhancing the process during reviews.
  • Participate in the ongoing continuous review and improvement of HR processes and procedures.
  • Assist with entering new hire paperwork, and verifying the accuracy of I-9, social security number, and EEO compliance information.
  • Assist in other duties as directed by the VP of HR and HR Directors.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of work experience in a Human Resources role, preferably as an HR Generalist.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Strong understanding of HR principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with labor laws and regulations
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • High level of confidentiality and integrity.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Utilize analytical, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Provide leadership and support for the Company’s mission and vision as well as champion the HR Department’s expectations and customer service standards.
  • Must comply with company policies, procedures, and processes in addition to Hospice rules and regulations.
  • Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Must be a licensed driver and have an automobile that is insured in accordance with organization/state requirements in good working order.
  • Must be willing to submit to all Company requirements prior to hire and annually thereafter.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must be able to read and follow instructions as required
  • Repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and viewing computer screens
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance
  • Must be able to hear and see with or without aid
  • Will be subject to enclosed spaces such as airplanes
  • Working conditions are normal for an office environment
  • Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work
  • Must be willing to participate in a drug/alcohol screen prior to hire, if involved in a work- related automobile accident or if reasonable suspicion is reported
