Overall Purpose of Job:
The HR Strategic Planner is responsible for the implementation of high impact and engaging HR-related programs and initiatives across MBE. The incumbent contributes to organization development by assisting the Head of HR MBE and stakeholders in the business to achieve MUFG’s vision to Empower a Brighter Future.
The role involves understanding business and HR requirements to make recommendations, and take a lead role in project managing, testing and implementing improvements across various HR specialisms.
The HR project manager builds and maintains relations within the MBE HR team, the EMEA HR team and stakeholders with different business lines, working in close connection with HR Business Partners, HR Shared Services, Recruiting, Performance & Reward, Organisation Development and Analytics & Workforce Planning teams across MBE and the region.
The HR Strategic Planner is accountable for the delivery of high quality initiatives that are aligned with the HR and business strategic objectives.
The HR Strategic Planner reports directly to the Head of HR MBE who reports to the President of MBE, with a matrix management line to the EMEA CHRO.
The MBE HR team consists of a designated HR team in Amsterdam and Düsseldorf and counts approx. 25 employees.

The role includes the following:
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assisting the head of MBE HR in the design and implementation of a strategic HR model for MBE.
- Coordinates and supports annual and cyclical HR processes including talent management, organisational design principles, Human Capital Planning, promotion processes and the employee engagement survey.
- Coordinates and supports Culture, Talent and Learning & Development initiatives.
- Oversee HR policy alignment (excl. Reward Policy), ensuring polices are aligned with the firm’s strategic goals and regional/global HR frameworks.
- Oversees implementation of matrix manager requirements in MBE, ensuring alignment with the regional/global framework.
- Develops and manages HR project plans and monitors progress, and documents project deliverables of assigned projects.
- Recommends and initiates new HR projects by following market trends, in order to support the development of a high performing workforce and HR function.
- Develops and coordinates HR communications, working with colleagues to ensure employee communications are delivered in a clear and engaging way
- Looks for opportunities to continuously improve existing HR processes and working with specialist teams to integrate and re-engineer existing processes and policies as appropriate.
- Responsible for developing informative materials for management and governance bodies.
- Leverages HR reporting systems to develop useful MI and analysis for the business in order to show progress and support decision making.
- Assists the Head of HR in high quality dashboards and presentations for senior leadership and governance bodies.
- Key contact person for HR and business lines regarding HR related projects and changes to current strategies, practices and processes.
In order to be successful in the role, you will need the following:
Skills and experience:
- Degree educated or relevant qualification in Human Resources or equivalent Human Resources experience
- Proven experience as HR or people consulting, leading multiple projects simultaneously preferably in a Financial Services organization and/or International business
- Experience working in a large organization
- Prior experience understanding business requirements and implementing change
- Previous experience using HR management systems
- Experience leveraging people analytics to create valuable insights for management, enabling data based decision making
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Language proficiency in Dutch and German is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office and competency working with Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple priorities at the same time
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain a professional manner in a busy environment
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities and re-prioritise work accordingly
- Ability to work effectively with other people via different methods, both inside and outside of HR, building and promoting effective working relationships.
- A proactive, motivated approach
- Results driven, with a strong sense of accountability whilst comfortable making strong decisions demonstrating the ability of having sound judgement
- The ability to manage large workloads and tight deadlines and maintaining a calm approach, with the ability to perform well in a pressurised environment
- Proven experience working with Workday
- High level of literacy and numeracy sufficient to undertake complex letter writing and reports, statistical analysis of performance data and complex calculations
- Uses a range of communication skills to be able to adapt to a range of clients, stakeholder and external parties
