This Opportunity:

The Human Resources Coordinator provides operational support throughout the employee lifecycle in its entirety and assists the HR Director, APAC to deliver people solutions and initiatives aligned to business objectives, across the APAC region and globally.

Location:

The position is based in Palladium’s Brisbane office.

Reporting Lines:

The position reports into the HR Director, APAC.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities: 

Customer Service and Delivery

  • Commit to the delivery of company and regional objectives (Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)) ensuring that personal KRAs are delivered with excellence and timeliness.
  • Assist with all HR activities including contracting and onboarding of new hires, internal transfers, promotions, salary reviews, reporting, training and offboarding.Areas of full accountability include:
  • Issuing standard employment contracts to new hires and processing contract amendments;
  • Completion of regular reports, including generating reports from the HRIS, and completing the annual WGEA report, ensuring accuracy and timeliness;
  • Coordinating employee onboarding, ensuring all new employees are given a professional, comprehensive and structured welcome to Palladium.
  • Organise HR inductions and other onboarding activities; and support line managers with probation requirements, ensuring they are providing support to new employees for the first 6 months;
  • Organise APAC professional development, training and BBL sessions. This includes following up employees and project HR leads to ensure mandatory training is completed; liaising with training facilitators, scheduling sessions, recording attendance and seeking feedback; and ensuring a library of training materials is kept updated;
  • Updating of the HR and training Sharepoint pages.
  • Advise employees and managers on the application and interpretation of HR policies and procedures, benefits and other HR initiatives.
  • Develop technical proficiency through researching, analysing and synthesising information; and contribute to updating HR policies and procedures.
  • Update and maintain data integrity in Palladium’s HRIS, ensuring compliance with internal processes and policies; and proactively make recommendations for system improvements.
  • Draft quality presentations and training materials and deliver in-person presentations confidently, whilst adapting communication style to different audiences.
  • Develop an understanding of our internal clients and the context in which they operate; in order to assist with addressing pain points and making recommendations for improvements.
  • Understand the implication of any HR-related risks and support their identification, management and mitigation.
  • Ensure that the company is meeting its legal obligations by maintaining a current knowledge of relevant IR legislation and professional HR practice, liaising with Contracts & Compliance as and when required.
  • Understand how innovation and technology shape the way we work and introduce new ways of working through AI, data and technology within HR.
  • Perform other job-related duties that may be assigned from time to time.

  • Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships both regionally and globally, and maintain professional, respectful and effective relationships with your colleagues.
  • Proactively lead internal initiatives to seek improvements, encouraging team participation and sharing of new ideas.
  • Train or buddy more junior colleagues; as well as support the onboarding and training of others on company policies and guidelines.

Essential Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent level of experience;
  • Several years of relevant prior work experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • A solid understanding of Employment Law, advanced research and analytical skills and ability to break down problems or challenges in a practical and logical way to make informed recommendations;
  • Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively in teams and with internal stakeholders;
  • Advanced technical skills, specifically with Microsoft 365 and HRIS systems, along with the ability to use technology and AI to transform processes in HR.
  • Highly developed organisational skills, agility and the ability to balance and prioritise multiple tasks, and work well under pressure in a dynamic and fast-paced environment;
  • Demonstrated understanding of the confidentiality of discussions and records along with high levels of professional credibility and integrity

Desirable Criteria:

  • Relevant experience in a complex, multi-jurisdictional HR environment;
